A little history...

Silk Group are a creative branding company based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Established over 30 years, we have maintained a design-led approach with a strong in-house team, enabling us to meet any brief. Our success has been driven by a dedicated focus on customer service and of course, our renowned friendly advice. Pete Slater

Pete is a founder member of Silk Group Ltd when the company incorporated in 1999. Experience includes working with and winning tenders for TfL, Police forces, Councils, Universities across the UK, along with many blue chip corporate organisations.

Robin Lyon-Smith

Robin started his working life as an apprentice footballer and spent one year at Oxford United FC. Following owning a successful packaging business, he then moved into the world of promotional merchandise in 2003 and has continued to grow and loving every minute.

Jane Barber

Office Admin Manager
With over 25 years experience managing key personnel, Jane’s day-to-day role includes: order processing, checking deliveries and ensuring that all deadlines are efficiently met. She also organised the company’s attainment of the ISO9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation.

mark burgess

Studio Manager
Mark oversees our design studio, dealing with clients and production. With over 20 years previous experience, Mark has been involved in the design, artwork and production processes and is qualified to BA (Hons) level in Graphic Design. In his spare time he can sometimes be seen out and about on his classic Lambretta.

Ian mcCord

Sales Executive
Ian works alongside Charities, Emergency services, Universities and Colleges to help them keep their branding in the forefront of people’s minds. He is currently studying for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Positive Psychology Coaching through The University of Worcester and The Iron Mill College in Exeter.

Clare Conway

Digital Media
Clare’s duties include overseeing the group’s social media platforms and E-marketing. She is also responsible for our product catalogue site, as well as providing additional artwork support. Clare is qualified to BA Hons Degree level in Photography and in her spare time designs her own bespoke flower pots.

Rob Palmer

Finance Director
Rob has worked in the promotions industry for over 15 years. With a background in accounting, his main role is that of financial director although he has been known to dabble in many different areas of the business.

Jake Bowden

Warehouse/Production Manager
Jake is responsible for our embroidery production facility, monitoring all stock levels, order picking and liaising with our administration team to ensure all deliveries are met on time.
