Strictly Learn To Dance 2018

16 April 2018

Jane took to the dancefloor in the Premier Suite of Bolton’s Whites Hotel on Saturday night to showcase her social foxtrot, quickstep and Argentine tango. Dancing in front of a judging panel consisting of two professional dance experts, a hospice trustee, and Apprentice stars Michaela Wain and Harrison Jones.

Jane has loved every minute of the event raising money for a special charity close to her but also finding a new hobby and friend at the same time has made this a special event.

Jane Said after the show:

“For several years I have been an avid fan of Strictly Come Dancing so when I got the opportunity to do 'Strictly Learn To Dance' for Bolton Hospice I was on cloud nine.

The weekly dance lessons started in December 2017 and we had four different dances to learn in 13 weeks, the Quickstep, Foxtrot, Argentine Tango and a Michael Jackson number.

The lessons were hard going and could be stressful at times but we got there in the end.

The big night soon came around and on Saturday 14th April, dressed in our fancy gowns we danced in front of an audience of 750 people at the Macron Stadium in Bolton. My family, friends and work colleagues all came to support me on the evening and the beer and wine flowed.  It was a fantastic experience and I enjoyed every minute of it especially all the glitz and glamour.

In a nut shell, I have had an amazing experience, I’ve learnt to dance, raised a lot of money for Bolton Hospice and made some fantastic new friends along the way. Thank you to all those who have supported me along the way. “

Maria Passarello, events manager at the hospice, said:

“The standard of dancing was so high. We’ve raised £37,000 at the moment, but we’re hoping to get it to £40,000, which will smash our target.”
